Please note timber may be supplied overlength to be end trimmed on site.
Surface checking, shrinkage and some face splitting will occur during the natural drying process of the timber.
Some blue black staining may occur on the Oak when it has been in contact with ironwork, along with water staining which can be removed with recommended cleaning agent.
Tannin leach may arise from the fresh sawn Oak; stain protection may be required on susceptible areas.
Please note that it is the customers responsibility to assure there are means of off-loading equipment on site.

Our air dried oak beams have been dried externally for approx 1 - 5 years. They are mainly held in square section sizes but can be cut to accommodate your list.
Air dried beams are prone to less shrinkage than fresh sawn beams, however a small amount is still expected. It takes approximately 1 year to acclimatise just 1" of beam.
Due to the natural drying process of Air Dried Oak, it will contain surface checking, splits, possibly an arris of sap and will be grey/silver in colour.
If the size is not a standard square section it may be cut from an air dried beam so the pieces will have two weathered and two bright faces. Some black bore holes are acceptable.
Our fresh Sawn structural Grade European Oak (green oak) are freshly cut beams.
Our Oak is planed using the most up to date machinery and will provide you with an accurate and smooth finish.

Fresh sawn Fencing Grade oak is perfect for your fencing posts.
It is a lower grade of oak than our structural grade and should therefore not be used for structural purposes.
Our European Oak curved windbraces are made from Fresh Sawn European Oak.
